| This stage version of the classic movie was great. There are a few facts wrong about this show and I would like to correct them. The show was on tour and it stopped at the MSG Theatre for a 45 performance LIMITED run. It then toured the country. It returned to New York for an encore viewing in 1998 and played, this time, for a 56 limited run. In 1998 The cast was replaced by Mickey Rooney as the Wizard and Eartha Kitt as the Witch. It didn't return to New York again but succesfully toured America. The Wizard of Oz never actually was on Broadway (Except for the 1903 version based on the book). This show was Great and I wish it would come back to NY for one more run! |
