| Better on the stage than the movie version, Stubby Kaye's rendition of the show-stopping "Jubilation T. Cornpone" was the highlight of this breezy confection. Peter Palmer, the quintessential Abner, Edie Adams as Daisy Mae and fantastic Charlotte Rae as Mammy Yokum, along with Kaye and Julie Newmar's Stupefyin' Jones, brought Al Capp's beloved cartoon to life. Happy memories, fine score. Great dancing. |
